Nah, slasher films have certain genre requirements. they are full of teens being punished fo having fun and drinking, doing drugs, having sex etc. There is none of that in TCM or Corpses. these kids are jsut mregular kids who happen upon a really messed up situation. TRhe killers are not at all supernatural, and they don't have cheezy or easily explained goofy motivations. All of those traits are hallmarks of the slasher genre. TCM and corpses are exploitation films. That is a different and much cooler animal You're generalizing. Looks like you and I are alone on this Hangman.

TCM and Corpses both, just don't fit into the genre people.

I agree it has elements from many different types of movies, especially exploitation. I can see how it could be classified as an exploitation movie. But at the same time, it has just as many slasher elements, so I can see how it could be classified as a slasher. By saying it's absolutely not a slasher, you guys are being a lot less flexible. Saying it's absolueley not a slasher movie isn't any less wrong than saying it absolutely is a slasher movie. Maybe it doesn't fit your constricted formula of a slasher, but that's what any good movie does. Breaks the rules and stretches the forumla of any given genre.

True, but I don't really consider it a exploitation film either. Corpses on the other hand I might consider exploitation, but I don't think I will ever be able to place TCM in a specific genre.

Hmm, you are now on your own, Inf3ct. I definitely think that TCM is one of the first exploitation classics that helped to build up the genre in the 70's. this film and Last House did more to start the exploitation genre than any other films

Very true HNT. Maybe I will re watch it again sometime soon. I do consider LHOTL to be exploitation though.

Nah, the most recent US release with the complete print restored is teh best. Some of the disembowelment scene doesn't quite match becaue it was restored to the print, but it is very nice nonetheless. I haven't seen the UK version so I don't really know, but the best it could have is the same print as the US version. There is no better print possible

I wonder why Phantom was saying the UK version was better than? I just looked on DVD Compare and you were right that the US version is the best.....hmm what was up with phantom then. weirdo.

Yeah the one like doing surgery or whatever is Dr. Satan. I didn't like the end with Dr. Satan very much, it seemed outta place, but The Devil's Rejects doesn't have anything like that in it.
