Jesus Christ!!!! This movie is very, very sick. It's probably the sickest I've seen. No, it IS the sickest I've seen. There's stuff in this movie that is simply astounding. A girl gets a fetus ripped out of her, people are forced to puke on each other, a dead girls guts are fucked, and that's just the first 20 minutes. Took me a while to work up the nerve to watch it, but once I did it wasn't as hard to watch as I thought it'd be. The gore is really well done, but there is no plot here, and that really affects the movie in a negative way. For the gore to be as effective as it can be in a movie, you need to have some depth to the film I think. Still, this movie is interesting, but should only be viewed by the strongest curiosity seekers out there. Because that's what this movie really is, a curiosity. What keeps you watching is wondering what horrible thing you'll see next, and it's quite entertaining that way. It's absolutely loaded with explicit, X-rated gore and perversion at a level I've never seen before, one after the other the scenes come, each one more fucked up than the last, but it's a pretty shallow experience, and it gets a bit boring as it goes on. Too bad it isn't more than that, but it is an interesting thing to watch. I should also mention that the female lead in this movie does a great job. She's convinvcing and intense, and helps the movie a lot.
I've heard that Toe Tag's first movie, just called August Underground is better, with a plot etc. I look forward to giving that one a try. These guys do great FX, and I think they could do something great if they put the focus on the quality of the film instead of the gore.

Yea I have been meaning to check both of those films out. I heard they weren't that great though so I have been putting it off. Killjoy is in this one though. He plays one of the killers that shows up near the end or somthing...atleast that is what I heard.

I have heard of how shocking the August Underground films are.
Does one get nauseous watching them?

lol. Personally I think that these are not that great. I will say that the effects are quite good, though. The original AU is way better than Mordum IMHO, becaue it is more low key and looks more like a genuine snuff film. Mordum just tries to be over the top and disgusting in every way possible, and the result is that it looks very unrealistic. Anyway, if this kind of pseudo-snuff film is your cup of tea, you'd do much better with Guinea Pig: Flowers of Flesh and Blood or The Devil's Experiment than with either of these

I have heard of how shocking the August Underground films are. Does one get nauseous watching them? I suppose there are some who would. Hell, there are stories of people throwing up at movies that are far less disgusting than this one, but I was far from being nauseous. There is never any doubt that what you are watching is just a movie. It is surprisingly un-scary for a film of this sort, now that you mention it. It is more about shocking and disgusting the viewer than scaring him. The feeling I got while watching it was almost like seeing a circus act or something; "Now look at this trick!" Rather than seeing a real bunch of home videos by a psychopathic couple of necrophiliac rapists. I can't imagine someone who is curious about seeing this kind of thing not being entertained by it though, it just misses the mark as far as real movie quality/content. They could've been much more successful if they'd made a movie about these two characters, with the home video stuff in there, than they were with just the video stuff, I think. Edit I should add that these comments are only about Mordum as I haven't seen the other one.
