This guy rules!!! He's more obscure than other great American horror directors like Carpenter or Romero, but you can't deny that Basket Case, Brain Damage and Frankenhooker are awesome. My personal favorite is probably Basket Case. Super twisted and original. The sequels aren't up to the high standard of the first one, but I did enjoy them anyway. It's been a long time since I watched them though. He's supposedly currently making a new movie called Sick in the Head, which has a plot that is along the lines of the crazy stuff he's known for, but there hasn't been any new news on it for quite some time. I hope it actually comes out!!! Anybody else a fan of these movies? Favorites?

I have heard of all the movies you listed, but unfortunately I have never picked them up and watched them yet. I have really been wanting to see Basket Case for awhile now.

Say, have you seen deepdiscountdvd.ca yet Jeremy? I saw a link to it on the US site, I hadn't noticed before, but maybe you've already seen it. I checked it out, and the prices are more than the US site, but shipping is free just like the US one. Anyway, there's going to be a new special edition DVD of Frankenhooker done by Unearthed films. There hasn't been a DVD of it that I'm aware of, so it'll be cool to see it with a nice looking transfer. I'm sure they'll have some cool special features on there too. Really looking forward to that one. As for Basket Case, you can get it for like cheap on the net, you guys have to check it out!!!!!

I definitely will man. I'll check out that SP of Frankenhooker when it comes out too. Hey didn't Abel Ferrera make a film called Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers?

Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers was not an Abel Farrara film. It was by Fred Olen Ray. It is pretty funny, and stars Gunnar Hansen as the good guy.
Anyway, Henenlotter is a hero of mine. I am so psyched that they are coming out with a DVD of Frankenhooker as taht movie is just hysterical and fun as hell. The original Basket Case is also great. the third is alright too, but I think the second one pretty much sucks. They are available in a box set, though, that is definitely a worthwhile purchase. Anyway, I thank Joe Bob Briggs from back when he had his drive-in theater show on Th Movie Channel or teaching me about the greatness of Henenlotter, Jess Franco, Joe D'Amato, Fulci, and all sorts of things taht a growing boy should know. Man that show was the best thing in the world back in the 80's and early 90's
