What did everyone think of Romero's latest entry to his zombie series?
I just saw it recently for the first time myself. I really enjoyed it, although it's certainly weaker than the previous ones. I liked the story and social commentary and the zombies were pretty sweet. The characters were nothing special, but I still thought it was a better than average zombie flick nonetheless.

I really like it.
It may not be like the previous three films, but it is still good.
I have it on DVD.

Yeah I agree. I think it's kinda underrated. I plan to buy it on DVD sometime soon.

Probably the weakest film in Romero's series. Its not super bad or anything, but I was expecting somting better from the man.

I agree withj Inf3ct. The whole tone of this film is fundamentally different than the others. Some sequences, like the ripping of the belly piercing were just cheap site gags that would have fit much better in a cheezy teen slasher film than in Romero's film. A major dissapointment since it came from the maestro himself, but I am probably judging it to harshly. If anyone else made this, I would be talking about how great it was

I definitely agree with you HNT. If someone else made it I might have liked it a bit more, but just knowing it came from a person who has shown us he is much more capable of making a better zombie and horror film in general it's a big let down. It's still watchable none the less though.

I think because there was so much time between Day and this one, people were expecting something beyond extraordinary. There's nothing like anticipating something for multiple decades. Although this is good, it definately isn't extraordinary so people felt let down.
I think a big part of the reason I liked it more than most is because I just saw it, and I had already heard by then that a lot of horror fans didn't like it. So my expectations were pretty low, and then it ended up being better than I expected.

Yea thats true. I went to see it the first weekend it opened so I was a bit let down. I think a big problem also, was that Romero got a bigger budget than usual so he was just so excited he decided to try all sorts of stuff out. His other films were much better because he had a lower budget and had to use more creativity....plus he had Tom Savini with him.

It isn't really scary.
It was what Day Of The Dead could have been, as it was modelled after the original Day script.

I actually took the day off of work on the day that it opened to see the very first showing. I anticipated seeing it several times tht day, but once was enough. I only saw it that one time in the theater. If it was better I would have seen it dozens of times. I did buy the DVD, but only watched it oncer as well. I've seen th other three films hundreds of times each, so that is a huge discrepancy
